Job posting suggests Napster planning iPhone app

Jumping on the bandwagon

In a further expansion of the mobile music sector, and following the recent announcement of mobile apps from Spotify and We7, Napster has joined the party.

It's currently recruiting a software engineer via Craigslist, looking for someone with experience in "Mac/iPhone OS X Development". Similar job postings from Spotify have yielded confirmed iPhone and Android apps in development.

Last month, in the States, Napster launched an unlimited streaming service, plus five free downloads a month, for $5. We're looking forward to seeing a similar offer in the UK, but in the meantime, we'll stick with the ad-supported Spotify.
