Includes public transit mode

Garmin has launched a series of downloadable CityXplorer guides for its nüvi 1200, 1300 and 1400 series of sat-navs. They aim to assist tourists in foreign cities by showing them local landmarks.

Unlike most sat-navs, the CityXplorer guides are tuned for pedestrians, but there's also a 'public transit' mode, that'll show you bus, tram, metro and suburban railway routes. The following European cities are covered:

Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Bratislava, Brussels, Budapest, Copenhagen, Cote D'Azur, Dublin, Edinburgh, Helsinki, Florence, Frankfort, Geneva, Krakow, Lisbon, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Prague, Riga, Rome, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Tallinn, Venice, Vienna, Vilnius, Warsaw, and Zurich

Each city costs £7.50 to £11, and they're available now from the Garmin website.
