The first announcement from this year's Apple WWDC event has been MacBook-related with the news that a new 13-inch Pro model is to launch as well as a 15-incher and updates for the 17-inch model and the MacBook Airs.

As revealed on stage at the Moscone West happening, the new 13-inch and the 15-inch MacBooks get the built-in battery that the 17-incher Pro launched with, that claims to offer 1000 charges and 7-hours of battery life.

Other features of note include an SD card slot in place of an ExpressCard slot, FireWire, a backlit keyboard and up to 8GB memory.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro will go on sale in three configurations offering 2.3 to 2.8GHz GHz processors, while the 17-incher will boast a 2.8GHz processor from now on.

The 13-inch MacBook's spec comes in at a 2.26 or 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 2 or 4GB RAM and 160 or 250GB hard drive.

The 13-inch model starts from $1199, pricing for the 15-inch laptop has been revealed as from $1699, and this, as well as the updated 17-inch model, will be on sale from today.

Finally, the MacBook Air's pricing has been reduced with two - also now Unibody - variants available for $1499 and $1799.

UK pricing has yet to be confirmed.
