Acer launching 3D notebook in October 09

Stereoscopic glasses still required

Laptop manufacturer Acer has announced that it will be launching a "3D notebook" at the end of October 2009. It'll include software for you to convert 2D movies to 3D, and it'll natively support 3D movies, too.

Currently, you'll still need steroscopic glasses for it to work. These aren't those red-and-green ones that came with cereal packets but fairly normal-looking, if unstylish, ones that split the light for you, giving the impression of 3D.

The notebook will come installed with Windows 7, and the company is also working on a the third generation of the Aspire One. It says that it will feature "strong network connectivity and convenience", and launch in Q3 2010.
