Apple is offering UK students an incentive to splash out on a new laptop or desktop, with an iPod on offer.

"A Mac and an iPod will make student life a little easier and a lot more fun", Apple entices over the deal that's open until 8 September 2009.

Students and teachers can use their Apple education discount to buy a qualifying Mac and get a rebate of up to £145 on an iPod.

Apple's student discount means a white MacBook is from £703, saving £67, a Pro goes from £1259 and an iMac can be had from £892.40.

Available only through Apple online or in Apple retail stores, the promotion is live now.
