Klipsch Heritage speakers return

Klipsch has announced that its hand-built Heritage range of speakers is returning to the UK, more than 60 years after it was originally introduced in 1946.

Four loudspeakers comprise the range. The Klipschorn is the daddy of the group, standing 1.28 metres high and weighing 80kg. It has a 1-inch tweeter, 2-inch midrange driver and a 15-inch fibre-composite woofer that gives it a sensitivity of 105dB.

Then there's the La Scala II. Originally introduced as a PA speaker for an Arkansas politician, the three-way loudspeaker moved into a domestic setting afterwards.

The three-way Cornwall III has the same woofer as the Klipschorn, but adds a sensitivity that matches fully horn-loaded cabinets. It comes with a riser base to lift it off the floor.

Then lastly is the cheapest in the range - the Heresy III. It stands 60cm tall and features a powerful woofer, bi-wire network, diaphragm-equipped tweeter and midrange drivers. There's a slant riser included, which is easily removable.

If you're feeling the vintage styling of the set and want some, then you'll have to wait at least 4 weeks for them to be constructed in Arkansas. They're pricy too, at £6000 for the Klipschorn, £3400 for the La Scala, £1700 for the Cornwall III and £850 for the Heresy III.

They're all available in black ash, walnut or cherry, and can be ordered from specialist dealers and Klipsch.co.uk.
