BenQ planning Android smartphone
Netbook on the cards too, in 2010

BenQ, the Taiwanese company best known for its monitors and projectors, has plans to launch a smartphone and a netbook in 2010, both based on Google's Android operating system.
It's not the first time BenQ has dabbled in mobiles and netbooks. The company already sells a "Joybook" netbook, and phones using the Symbian platform.
Launches on Android will see the company join Acer and Asus, as well as a host of others, in shifting to Google's smartphone OS for phones. A company spokesperson confirmed that it hopes to bring Android products to market next year.
Other companies reportedly testing Android netbooks include Dell, HP, Asus, Inventec, Acer, and Elitegroup.
