The BBC's HD channel has announced what it says is a summer "packed with sport and music".

The Beeb's high definition summer starts next week with the tennis tourno that is Queens and goes through to the World Athletics Championship in August, taking in a little music at the BBC Proms and Glastonbury along the way.

Here's the full line-up to mark in your diary:

* Queen's Tennis Championship: 8-14 June
* Wimbledon: 22 June-5 July
* BBC Proms: 17 July-12 September
* Glastonbury: 26-28 June
* World Championships in Athletics: 15-28 August

The Beeb says other forthcoming programme "highlights" include documentary Henry VIII - Patron Or Plunderer?, comedy from Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, That Mitchell And Webb Look, Psychoville and new drama Hope Springs.

"Sport and music lend themselves perfectly to HD viewing. It really brings these kinds of events to life and so this summer will be a treat for BBC HD viewers", said Danielle Nagler, head of BBC HD.

"It's been a year of real growth for the channel - we've increased hours, we're now available via BBC iPlayer and the viewers themselves voted us Channel of the Year in the recent Freesat awards".
