"Mobile phone elbow" health warning

The Daily Mail brings news of a fresh "menace" to phone owners

Mobile phone users are at risk from another health "menace", according to warnings from orthopaedic surgeons.

The Daily Mail reports that "mobile phone elbow" is something new for chatterboxes to worry about.

Officially called "cubital tunnel syndrome", the condition is said to affect those who hold their phones to their ears for long periods of time.

Having your elbow bent too tightly - and for too long - is said to risk overextending the ulnar nerve.

This can lead to tingling and numbness in your arm, and long term could lead to difficulty "opening jars, typing, writing or playing instruments".

Increased numbers of people with the condition are reported by orthopaedic specialists, who advise mobile users to switch their handset from hand to hand every so often.
