HP has introduced the HP Pavilion Slimline s5100 PC, as "a stylish and space-efficient desktop PC that provides all the performance and functionality of a traditional tower PC but in less than half the size".

In a spec-light press release, HP says the new PC offers "support" for Intel Core 2 Quad and PhenomII X4 desktop processors.

Measuring 30cm high and 11cm wide, the s5200 gets 802.11 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, optical disk drive bays, a 6-in-1 card reader and HP's MediaSmart software.

Optional extras include a wireless mouse and keyboard, as well as other peripherals like the HP Pocket Media Drive.

With Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate, the s5100 will be available in late July 2009 from £339.
