Nokia N97 gets release date: 19 June

• I've just spoken to O2 about this as I've been waiting for 5 months for a new handset & wanted this. Apparently they're still in talks with Nokia as to if they're taking on the N97 or not. Could be a fob off, but I doubt O2 would deny a decision being made if they aren't taking it on. There wouldn't be any point. Really hope they do start selling it direct, Carphone Warehouse are a serious rip off and often their staff know very little about any of the products they sell. I wouldn't go there if they paid me. • Its a shame that O2, one of the leading network is so slow in adopting such an innovation. Bringing N97 to the store will add value.......surely. With regards to staff's information about N97 Phones4u are not any better either, I went there on 12th and they said may be end of this month but we are not sure....Ha....Ha, the phone was first advertised linked to any network at Phones4U's website. • From what I have researched o2 didn't like the fact that this phone was coming with Skype on it.
  I have been an o2 customer for many years but their decision to hold off on any definative news that they will be stocking the phone has led me to another service provider.
  I have been on o2's 'rolling' contract now since November while I waited the launch of this phone and I really would have prefered to stay with them.
  
  As it is.. this phone is out now!! I get mine on Tuesday (june 23rd) and I can't wait. Posted by tots, UK
