WEBSITE OF THE DAY - eatseasonably

'Tis the season to be healthy, so get some greens

29 May 2009 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

Here’s some food for thought:
In a recent survey, a quarter of 16-24 year olds think peas are in season all year compared to only 4 % of the 55+ age group.
One in five16-24 year olds thinks sweet corn is also in season all year round.
And, one in five of the 16-24 year old group thinks cauliflowers ‘grow
below the ground’ versus 5% of the 55+ group.

Clearly the yoof of today don’t know diddly about their greens.

This new site is all about eating what’s in season and the benefits are hard to argue against.

It’s better for you, better for the planet and it just tastes better too.

This week it’s asparagus – a better class of vegetable.
