The ability to play games in the palm of your hand (stop sniggering at the back) is something we all take for granted these days.

Handheld consoles are giving their bigger, bulkier brothers a run for their money in terms of both speed and game play, and mobiles are increasingly coming pre-packed with some of the best titles.

But it wasn't always like that.

This neat 90-second clip runs through the history of mobile gaming and it's made us all a bit misty-eyed with nostalgia.
