Windows Vista SP2 released

Microsoft has released Windows Vista Service Pack 2, and it's now available to download, as is Windows Server 2008 SP2.

As well as fixing a whopping 700 bugs and security updates - some of which may have been delivered via updates - SP2 offers updated support for Bluetooth 2.1, new support for recording Blu-ray discs and claims to boost your PC's power management efficiency by as much as 10%. Wi-Fi issues are also addressed, as are problems with Vista's desktop sidebar.

Microsoft says business customers who require "additional time to prepare for the download and deployment of SP2" can use a blocker tool kit (also provided for Windows Vista SP1) to delay deployment.

As we've mentioned the 348MB file is available now to download via Microsoft's Download Center for anyone who has SP1 installed, or if you want to play it cool, you can hang on for your dose of SP2 via Windows Update, a process due to begin in June.
