Terratec has launched a new device that it says will allow you to turn your old VHS tapes into digital movies with ease.

Retailing for £49.99, the new Grabster AV 150, comes with a full version of Ulead's DVD MovieFactory 3 allowing you to produce movies from your VHS tapes to play on any DVD player or computer.

The devices connects to any PC via the USB2.0 port and files may be digitized in either MPEG1 or MPEG2 format. Users are then free to delete annoying advertising breaks, create personalised menus and burn their customized versions to DVD.

High video quality is assured with full D1 resolution of 720 x 576 pixels for PAL users and 720x480 for NTSC users.

You can also connect other devices such as camcorders, sat receivers and DVD players to the box. The package also ships with Ulead's VideoStudio 7SE.

The Grabster AV 150 will be available from February 2006.
