Taiwanese company Compro Technology has announced the introduction of its T1000W VideoMate Network Media Centre in the UK.

The VideoMate Network Media Centre acts as a home media server, which stores movies, music, photos, and other files on a central hub-like hard drive as well as having a DVB-T tuner for PVR abilities.

The "sleek" VideoMate T1000W, with HDMI, is capable of showing 1080p Full HD movies and decoding and recording of MPEG-2 or H.264 digital TV streams with BitTorrent support.

Offering an "intuitive" user interface, "effortless" sharing within your home network and complete with remote control, the new device will go on sale through Scan Computers, CCL Online, Micro Direct, Aria, eBuyer, Xenex, CPC, Maplin and Overclockers, priced around £200.
