Android-based HTC Lancaster revealed

Bombs away for AT&T summer launch

26 May 2009 10:55 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Making them the undoubted leader in the Android handset market, another Android-based HTC device has been revealed with the news that the "Lancaster" is due to launch on AT&T in the States.

Engadget brings the news that the coming-soon handset - this one a QWERTY slider, rather than following the form factor of the physical keyboard-less Magic design that's launched in the UK - offers a modest, but respectable spec list.

There's a 3-megapixel camera, HSDPA, A-GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, expandable memory and a "unique HTC social messaging user interface".

The report suggests the Lancaster is due to be an AT&T exclusive for 6 months and is apparently slated to be available from 3 August.

We will keep you posted.
