Samsung's Beat DJ mobile phone, or the M7600, designed to be optimised for music playback, is now available in the UK through O2.

The Beat DJ's music credentials come in with stereo Bang & Olufsen speakers, featuring ICEpower Technology and SRS WOW for virtual 5.1 surround sound. Also thrown into the mix is Samsung's DNSe tech as found on their standalone music players.

There's also track tagging and music recommendations - and a little gimmicky - the Beat DJ lets you do your mixing on the move with the ability to scratch records on the touchscreen and add your own voice into the mix.

Specs-wise the phone offers a 2.7-inch AMOLED display, HSDPA connectivity, a 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Beat DJ is offered free on 24-month, £29.38 and up monthly contracts and from free on £34.26 and up 18-month contracts.
