Virgin America rolls out in-flight Wi-Fi across entire fleet

Virgin America has rolled out Wi-Fi to its entire fleet of aeroplanes in the States, becoming the first airline in the country to offer wireless internet on every flight.

The service costs $12.95 for daytime flights of over 3 hours, $9.95 for daytime flights of less than 3 hours, $5.95 on red-eye flights and $7.95 for handheld devices.

Virgin America does not allow VoIP services such as Skype to be used in order to promote a "quiet, restful cabin environment".

In addition, the airline offers power outlets at every seat, with a company exec dubbing the planes "Wi-Fi hotspots and home offices in the air".
