Microsoft opens up My Phone beta to all

Cloud sync service now live for anyone who wants it

Microsoft's My Phone cloud sync service, which Pocket-lint brought you news of earlier in the year, has entered a public beta testing period. Anyone can now sign up for the service.

That means that if you've got a Windows Mobile handset, then your contacts, calendar appointments, tasks, photos, videos, text messages, music, and documents can all be synced to the cloud, providing you with a persistent backup.

Users are granted 200MB of storage space, but you'll need a minimum of Windows Mobile 6 for the service to work. Current users of My Phone will need to upgrade their client in the near future for it to keep working, but all settings and data will be retained.
