Nokia has announced that its coming-soon flagship Nseries device, the Nokia N97, is now available to pre-order via its online shop.

The price for the new touchscreen handset, offered SIM-free direct from the manufacturer, is £499.

The Nokia N97 is Nokia's first high-end touchscreen device and will be the first Nokia device to feature the Ovi Store, Nokia's answer to Apple's App Store.

Available in black and white colour, the phone can be pre-ordered at www.nokia.co.uk/shop.

Nokia says sales start date, operator availability and "further exclusive content" for the Nokia N97 will be announced soon.

Phones4U has confirmed it will be offering the phone from 26 June, while O2 will also offer the new handset, but only through Carphone Warehouse, with timescales not yet revealed.
