Following the news that Pocket-lint brought you that the handset was unavailable, 3 has now announced the "return" of the Skypephone S2.

3 says following the September 2008 launch of the VoIP-enabled handset, "it proved so popular that last month we ran out of stock completely and our shelves were left sadly bereft of the cheeky little number".

The Skypephone S2 is now back in stock, and on sale on a pay as you go basis for £69.99 from 3 Stores on the high street and online.

While the S2 is made re-available, 3 is currently working on another handset to the range due later this year.

Kevin Russell, the operator's CEO here in the UK told journalists, including Pocket-lint, that the company was working on another dedicated Skype handset for release in Q4.
