Sigma DP2 now available in the UK

14 megapixels of compact, with "all the power of DSLR"

14 May 2009 15:06 GMT / By Duncan Geere

Last September, Sigma announced its DP2 digi compact camera. As Pocket-lint reported at the time, it has a 24.2mm f/2.8 lens, True II image processing engine, and records in RAW as well as JPEG format.

Sigma's claim for the new compact is that it is capable of taking "SLR quality images".

UK photography fans haven't been able to get their hands on it, to date. That's about to change, with Sigma announcing that the DP2 will shortly be arriving in British shops, carrying a not-insubstantial price tag of £600.

Two new accessories will also be available - the VF-21 Viewfinder, for £115, and the HA-21 Hood adapter for £20.
