Google has unveiled new search options that it says will "quickly connect people to just the nuggets they need at that moment".

The new set of features called "Search Options" are a collection of tools that "let you slice and dice your results" and generate different views to find what you need faster and easier, claims the site.

Google says the Search Options panel "helps solve a problem that can be vexing: what query should I ask?"

Options include the ability to see results from the past week, for time-sensitive searches and a view that gives you more info, or as Google says, "rich snippets" about each result, including images as well as text.

Another new tool, "Google Squared", is coming later this month via Google Labs and is described as such: "Google Squared doesn't find webpages about your topic - instead, it automatically fetches and organizes facts from across the Internet".
