Spore Hero details revealed for Wii and DS

Less sandbox, more scripted

As Pocket-lint reported back in January, Spore is coming to the Wii, and extending its presence on the DS handheld. Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena will be hatching before the end of the year.

Spore Hero is more of a story-driven adventure game than the original Spore's sandbox approach. Players create a "hero" and quest to save their homeworld from an ominous dark force. 250 body parts will be collectable for players to upgrade their creature during the game.

Spore Hero Arena on the DS goes for more of a gladiatorial approach. Players take their creature from planet to planet to fight baddies, seeking out the local champion to defeat in combat, unlocking new abilities. Players will be able to use the DS's wireless connection to battle friends locally or online.

We've got a whole heap of screenshots from both the DS and Wii versions, so feast your eyes on the image tab above.
