Daily Tech Deal: Cdiscount's three payments offer

Money saving deals, offers and innovations

Today's tech deal doesn't necessarily offer money off of goods, but a way to get hold of them if you really need something and can't afford to splash out a lump sum in today's cash-strapped times.

With no charges, this is not a hire purchase scheme or get-shafted-for-29%-interest-rates, but the option to pay the same price for an item in three instalments, meaning - as those sofa ads say - you really can spread the cost.

As an example, those needing a new laptop might consider the 15-inch Intel Core 2 Duo Acer Aspire 5920, that Cdiscount is currently selling for £379.99, down from its £499 RRP.

Cdiscount's "3Discount" scheme (available on all purchases over £100) would require a payment of £126.66 (plus postage charge) on ordering, then, depending on whether the order was placed before or after the 19th of the month, a further £126.66 on 1st or 15th of the following month with the final instalment due 30 days after the second.

We're not financial advisers here at Pocket-lint, and nor do we want to encourage people to splash out on things they can't afford, but if you need a replacement appliance, or a business or study tool like a laptop or satnav, but don't have the cash up front, then we think this offers you an alternative.
