Brits will be able to get their hands on Lara Croft 4 days ahead of their American gaming friends following the announcement from Eidos that it will be launching the game across a number of formats in the UK and America.

Eidos has confirmed that games heroine Lara Croft will be making her gaming comeback on 7 April 2006 in Europe and the 11 April in America.

Available on the PS2, Xbox360, Xbox and PSP consoles as well as PC, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend is the seventh title to be released in the Tomb Raider series, which originally launched in 1996.

In related news, Eidos announced last week that although the PSP version will be based largely on the PS2 version of the game, it will also features a number of exclusive game modes together with a host of Bonus Reward Content.

The company first announced the development of the games almost a year ago saying:

“Tomb Raider: Legend revives the athletic, intelligent and entertaining adventurer who won the hearts and minds of gamers worldwide. Lara comes alive with intricately animated expressions, moves and abilities. An arsenal of modern equipment, such as a magnetic grappling device, binoculars, frag grenades, personal lighting device and communications equipment, allows gamers to experience tomb raiding as never before.”
