Asus will launch an 11.6-inch Eee PC later this month the company's president has confirmed.

Continuing to expand its Eee PC range, Asus boss Jerry Shen is reported to have said that the company hasn't lost sight of the main focus when it comes to netbooks. Its 10-inch model, says Asus, is still likely to account for 50% of total shipments.

As it and rival PC maker Acer both move to suggest netbooks now include screen sizes up to 12-inches, Asus says the new model will hopefully account for 30% of sales.

According to DigiTimes, the company will also launch a 15.6-inch mid-range to high-end CULV-based ultra-thin notebook, the XS15, priced at 799-999 euro (US$1063-$1330) and a 13.3-inch model priced at 599-699 euro in July.

The company also plans to launch 14-inch models this year, Shen noted.
