To celebrate the upcoming bank holiday, today's tech deal brings you word of the "The Great Giveaway" from Buyitdirect.co.uk.The etailer claims to be offering £50,000 of products absolutely free.
Sounds strange we know, but Nick Glynne, managing director of Buyitdirect, is quoted saying:
"People can’t believe that we are really doing this, but it’s simply business. We’re expanding our product range and we need the space in our warehouse for new goods. We worked out it was cheaper for us to give the goods away rather than pay to store, insure and market them".
Well, that and the publicity they'll get from the stunt.
The products available include Sony LCD TVs, Miele washing machines, laptops and Smeg fridges.
The promotion starts 1.00am on 4 May, and you'll need to visit the site now to collect your "great giveaway promo code" via email - after the obligatory registration.
Presumably on a first-come, first-served basis, once you have received your code, you can visit the website on Monday morning enter the product you want, promo code, etc... and providing you're willing to stump up the £4.95 delivery fee, your item should be shipped in 4 working days.
Anyone tempted to go for it - let us know how it works out for you.
