Fully uncompressed, DRM-free, 24bit WAV files, anyone?

Naim Label has announced that as of 18 May it will relaunch, offering "high definition" music downloads, with fully uncompressed, DRM-free, 24bit WAV files available.

As well as offering 320kbps MP3 files, the company will be angling their "HD" collection at audiophiles, "the more discerning music buyers out there, who are prepared to pay a little bit more for their digital music and get a lot more out of it".

Naim says CD quality is technically 16bits deep, while their HD downloads offer a depth of 24bit and will be sold in the form of native WAV files, due to be priced from 99p per track.

There's also around 40% smaller FLAC files available for those that can't wait the hour it would take to download an HD WAV album on 2MB broadband.

To promote the new offering, from 18 May, Naim will be offering US singer/songwriter William Fitzsimmon's debut UK single "Everything Has Changed" free in full CD quality (FLAC or WAV) exclusively from www.naimlabel.com.
