Facebook has launched a new Friends Page that is says makes it easier for you to find and organise your connections, so you can better filter the content you see from them on your homepage and manage your privacy settings.

Searching for friends can be done via email or IM account, as well as name, then these people can be organised into now-improved "Friend Lists" from the Friends Page.

Friend Lists let you create named lists of friends to group relationships and "more easily share with certain sets of people".

Facebook warns the new Friends Page may have lists already created, based on details entered when answering the question "How do you know this person?". These can be changed or deleted.

Friend Lists can be used to send inbox messages, group or event invitations, or to set privacy on the content you publish. In addition, users can now filter the stream of stories on their homepage by Friends Lists.
