Vodafone intros 50p per day mobile internet flat rate

Kicking off with "Freeday" Friday on the 1st

30 April 2009 11:44 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Vodafone is introducing a new flat 50p daily rate for internet browsing and email on your mobile phone.

The new rate will become effective from 1 May for customers who don't already have a monthly mobile internet bundle.

To mark the launch of the new flat rate, on Friday 1 May all Vodafone customers will be able to browse the Internet and pick up emails on their mobiles for free all day.

Vodafone is angling its "Freeday" Friday as the perfect way for customers to plan their May Bank Holiday.

You don't need to do anything to qualify for the free browsing on the 1st - just click on the Vodafone live! or browser icon in the menu of your phone.

  • Funny how there is no obvious link on Vodafone's homepage.
Perhaps they are embrassed that it is for WAP users, not the 'mobile broadband' crowd - if you look closely, it's mentioned under the 'mobile internet' tab, not the 'mobile broadband' tab.
So, surf along at 56K, just like grandpa used to in the good ol' days. :-)

  • Sorry to have to correct you, but wap has moved on somewhat since then (you're referring to circuit-switched data call "dialup")

You can buzz along at proper 3.5G speeds on this offer! - up to 7.2Mbps in the right areas.
