29 April 2009 17:43 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Stanley has announced the launch of an iPhone and iPod touch application with the introduction of the Stanley Level.

The free application is available online at the Apple App Store and claims to offer the "accuracy and reliability" of real world Stanley tools, but in virtual form.

There are four interchangeable application skins to emulate existing Stanley levels, suitable for "basic levelling tasks".

Stanley says the "Classic Stanley Wooden Level" skin combines more than a century's worth of hand tool manufacturing experience with "today's latest digital technology".
