Music streaming service Spotify has revealed that it has hit a major milestone in the UK.

The Swedish company, based in London, now has over 1 million users in Britain.

This milestone comes just weeks after the company announced it had hit a million users in total - an announcement we brought you on 3 March.

This most recent revelation came from UK managing director Paul Brown at MediaGuardian's Radio Reborn conference.

Brown said "a decent proportion" of that million are paid-for customers.

Spotify recently launched an API that will let third party developers build software around its services.
