Canon launch flagship digital camcorder

New High Resolution flagship DVD camcorder: the 4.29 megapixel CCD DC40 coming to a shop near you

Canon has announced the launch of its High Resolution flagship DVD camcorder: the 4.29 megapixel CCD DC40.

Recording true widescreen video straight to DVD (-R/-RW), with advanced digital photography functions, the DC40 effortlessly combines high power shooting with beautiful styling: the camcorder's perpetual curve design has been ergonomically engineered for precision handheld shooting.

The new DC40, also features 16:9 widescreen shooting, with a 2.7-inch widescreen colour LCD and wide colour viewfinder.

Users will be able to zoom into the action with the cameras 10x optical zoom lens with Electronic Image Stabiliser (EIS).

Other features include the inclusion of DIGIC DV dual path processing, for optimized colour performance for both video and stills, the ability to capture still images to MiniSD card, and a Super Night Mode for low-light video recording.

The DC40 measures 60 x 87 x 126mm, and will be able in April. Canon has not yet set a price in the UK.
