27 April 2009 15:14 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

WeROK, a Wi-Fi powered mobile portal including "low-cost" texting and free mobile phone services, has been announced.

Coming at Symbian S60 3rd Edition phone owners, the service, from ROK and WeFi offers the afore-mentioned low-cost SMSing, mobile email services, free-streamed mobile TV and mobile social network services.

WeROK's internet connection is powered by WeFi, the community-driven global Wi-Fi network that automatically connects to the best Wi-Fi spot whenever available.

Jonathan Kendrick, chairman and CEO of ROK Entertainment Group, explains WeROK: "It's an advertising-funded mobile services application which enables handsets to automatically and seamlessly access Wi-Fi zones in order to route mobile activities via the Internet".

The advertising-supported service is free to download at www.werok.net and is currently accessible on any Wi-Fi enabled Symbian S60 mobile phone, as well as on PCs.
