Sony has confirmed that some owners of its MP3 players have been experiencing problems with the Sony Connect software.

The players affected are the NW-A1000 , NW-A3000 and NW-A608.

In a statement made by the company Sony has said:

“A number of users have reported problems with their Sony Network WALKMAN NW-A1000, NW-A3000 and NW-A608 when using 'CONNECT Player' software.
Such problems may include slow performance or difficulty in installing the software.

"Where they occur, these issues arise as a result of aspects of some system environments and usage conditions. To enable customers to enjoy their purchase, Sony is currently investigating these problems.

"In the meantime, Sony recommends that any owners of the above-mentioned Network WALKMAN experiencing difficulties with their products should first check whether there is a solution to their specific problem in our FAQ section.

"If none of the suggested solutions cures the issue, we recommend the use of an alternative Sony software (known as 'SonicStage') which will remedy the above-mentioned issues. 'SonicStage' software may be downloaded here, free of charge.

"The current version of 'SonicStage' software does not offer the full range of features and functionality offered by 'CONNECT Player'. A description of the different software features available with 'SonicStage' can be found here.
For further information, please contact your local Sony Customer Information Centre.

"Sony apologises for any inconvenience caused to our customers and hopes that the information provided above will enable you to enjoy your Sony product.”
