Toshiba has announced a new update to its netbook range on Wednesday and Pocket-lint was on hand to grab a hands on with the new model.

Replacing the NB100, the new NB200 or UX100, as it will be known in the US, offers heaps of style alongside a Intel Atom processor, 10-inch screen and 160GB hard drive complete with a 3D motion sensor so if dropped it is unlikely to break.

Prices are from £319 for a 3-cell battery version or £369 for the 6-cell battery version, the larger battery version promises to last up to 9 hours on a single charge.

Road warriors take note, Toshiba is hoping to release a 3G version later in the year.

The NB200 is expected to hit the shops in May.

  • Great Photos...... loving the new tosh netbook......! Posted by dan, uk
  • It looks a lot better than the much derided NB100 although I would expect to see new netbooks with HDMI with 720 output by now... Posted by MacroEQ, London, UK.
  • Excellent reviews on this new Toshiba N.Bk.. As usual, tho', too many versions or "grades". Why not just produce them all at the top end spec; E.G. with the 9hour battery?. Surely this would balance or average-out pricewise at the end of the day. John. Posted by John G. Brydon., U.K.
  • WOW! This one's a real beauty! I just got myself a 15.4" Toshiba laptop and am quite pleased with it, but after having seen these photos of NB200, I am decided on getting one. It is too beautiful to resist. Posted by emy cervantes, Philippines
  • I'm excited about this model with the new faster ATOM 280 Intel Processor and 9hr battery life but disappointed there no mobile broadband option with is a real seller for the NB100 3g.

On the actual phyical side I find the keys look great but the color brown emmmm Do they have it in silver I would go top of the range :)
