In the States, Microsoft has announced a new addition to its SideWinder gaming products, the SideWinder X3 mouse.

Claiming to combine gaming performance and versatile design at a "value" price of $39.95, the X3 is an ambidextrous, eight-button input device offering a 2000dpi laser-tracking engine with on-the-fly dpi switching between high, medium and low sensitivity.

The SideWinder X3 also offers five programmable main buttons that are customisable to gamers’ preferences with the main button apparently tested to withstand 10 million clicks.

The X3 will go on sale in the US in May for that just under $40 price point, no news on a UK release just yet.
