Android-based HTC Fiesta incoming

Bluetooth SIG lists mystery new device as "an Android phone"

14 April 2009 10:47 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

HTC is planning to launch an Android handset dubbed the "Fiesta", it's been revealed.

The revelation comes courtesy of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group's website where the new handset has been submitted for Bluetooth certification.

Although the page has now been changed - presumably at HTC's request - when it went live the HTC Fiesta was listed as "an Android phone".

The Fiesta, a moniker that is almost certainly a codename, rather than the final product name, is due to launch across Europe, North America and Asia.

HTC has confirmed it is to launch at least three Android-based phones this year, although the launch of the HTC Magic, due to Vodafone in the UK, has so far seen a delay.
