Channel 4 4oD arrives on Mac

Linux gets streaming version as well

Channel 4 has finally made its on-demand service 4oD available for Mac and Linux users.

The service, which allows users to catch up with programmes aired on Channel 4, has until now only been available via a Windows powered PC, but from this week will be able available to all users as a streaming service.

Apologising for the tardiness of the service arriving on the Mac, a spokesperson for the company behind the technology told Pocket-lint:

"Channel 4 are using an Adobe Flash player to deliver the content so both Apple Mac and Linux OS users should be able to use the service".

"At this stage just the 4oD catch-up streaming service is available, but this is the first step in providing the full service to Mac users and they are working on the archive facility which will be available to Mac users later in the year".

The relaunch of the catch-up service is part of an overall revamp of Channel4.com.
