• Yup precisely......the Pro is already getting on a bit and will surely be the next thing for Sling to decide to stop supporting and it doesnt stream hd anyway, the Solo doesn't have freeview etc...so in a way, it's not as usable as a Classic.....and the Pro HD (which would be worth upgrading to) isn't on the market yet....and there is no news from Sling how long we would have to wait!
  
  In anycase, the thought is that this is purely an artificial money-driven choice by Sling to get people to buy new boxes now rather than an actual technical reason.
  
  Shame...Sling was such a great trust-worthy company, but since they've been taken over by Echostar it's gone rapidly downhill!
  
  Sling makes great products....The iPhone App does indeed look stunning.....but don't rip off your customers....they are the ones that help sell your products!

• Looks like we get a slightly better deal than the US customers who are forced to use their discount voucher at the overpriced Sling store (and even with the voucher it's more expensive than just buying from Amazon). Posted by GK, UK
• I'm sure that they could make the app work with older hardware if they wanted to. Unless they're going to give the app free to people who 'need' to pay to 'upgrade' I'll not be thinking about doing it. Shame, was really looking forward to this. Posted by Bluem000n, UK
