Asus has announced the W90, an 18.4-inch, 5.4kg, £2.3k gaming and multimedia laptop.

Asus says the W90 is the first notebook in the world to feature ATI CrossFireX tech combined with dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 graphics providing a total of 1024MB video memory, as well as 6GB RAM.

Offering the Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 processor and Intel's X38 Express Chipset, the W90 has been "turbo-charged" to 125% of CPU performance.

Complete with Blu-ray drive and HDMI port, the W90 offers full 1080p high def and 16:9 display whilst the screen also gets anti-dust, anti-scratch and anti-shock technology.

Sound-wise, you're looking at five Altec Lansing speakers, a subwoofer and Dolby Home Theatre 5.1 surround sound controlled by a media touch panel.

Boasting two 320GB hard drives, webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, memory card reader, numeric keypad, fingerprint reader, 12-cell battery and sold with Windows Vista Ultimate, the W90 goes on sale from May for £2399.
