Acer has announced the launch of the all-in-one Acer Aspire Z5600 PC with a 24-inch display and a "sought-after design".

Said to be engineered to "maximize the full promise" of Windows 7, the Aspire Z5600 offers full touchscreen capabilities.

Specs are a little woolly at this stage. The Z5600 is said to offer the "latest generation of Intel processors" and a HDD of up to 2TB.

In addition, there's a TV tuner, integrated webcam and a DVD/Blu-Ray player/writer combo drive.

We'll bring you more specs, as well as pricing and availability, when Acer reveals more.

  • I can't believe they are releasing a all-in-one touch screen but failed to incorporate a wireless mouse and kbd Posted by Luke Peters, US
  • If they're sensible it will have Bluetooth, and it won't ship a mouse or keyboard

Then if you want to shell out for bluetooth peripherals you can. Otherwise you can use wired USB or wireless via USB.

I for one haven't come across a wireless keyboard that I'd want to use

  • what about the pen pad yet another bit of missing hardware to pay for Posted by MstrDK, UK
  • I urge you not to hand your money over for one of these. It may be extremely tempting with it's stylish looks and "bargain" price tag, but when it starts to fall apart within a year (like every other Acer product ever made) you will deeply regret your decision. Save your pennies and go for the HP or an iMac, even if the spec may seem lower.

If however you simply can't resist, whatever you do, don't waste your money on an extended warranty, because you may as well be throwing your money down the drain - they honour nothing!
