Nintendo DSi sells 92,000 in 2 days

Fourth biggest console launch in UK

Nintendo's launch of its new DSi handheld gaming console has been deemed a success in the UK.

The revamped dual-screen device went on sale in the UK on Friday 3 April and GfK Chart-Track has now revealed sales stats to Pocket-lint.

GfK Chart-Track recorded an estimated 92,000 units sold of the DSi console over the Friday and Saturday.

The stats company says that sales of DSI were more than all other consoles combined for that week.

And, in hitting 92,000 makes the DSi launch the fourth biggest launch of a console in the UK, behind Sony's PSP and PS3 and the Nintendo Wii.

The Nintendo DSi is on sale now, available in black or white, for around the £150 mark.
