Samsung BD-P4600 wall-mountable Blu-ray priced for UK

Samsung has announced the UK pricing for two new Blu-ray players, the top-of-the-range BD-P4600 and the BD-P1600.

We brought you news of the BD-P4600 from the CES show in January. It's notable for being the world's slimmest and first wall-mountable Blu-ray player.

The BD-P4600, with touch sensitive controls, is 1.5 inches thick and offers Wi-Fi connectivity via the included 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi dongle, so can be used to stream media to and from a PC.

With both models there's full HD 1080p Blu-ray playback with DVD upscaling, total HD soundtrack support as well as CD playback and JPEG support.

The players offer BD Live (Profile 2.0) for interactive features as well as Bonus View support for picture-in-picture functionality.

The BD-P1600 will go on sale in the UK for £199.99 while the BD-P4600 will cost £269.99, price points that could be argued show just how much the cost of Blu-ray players has come down.
