New BlackBerrys leaked

6 April 2009 10:03 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

News of forthcoming BlackBerry smartphones from RIM have supposedly been leaked from an insider, according to US blog the Boy Genius Report.

Said to be due to RIM's 9000-series family, the three rumoured models are all 3G and are code-named Onyx, Driftwood and Magnum.

If the info is correct, the BlackBerry Onyx and Magnum will both offer GPS, a camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard, a 480 x 360 resolution screen and are said to be "confirmed" for US operator AT&T.

The similarity in the two device's specs are possibly explained by the fact that one of the devices could offer a touchscreen, similar to RIM's BlackBerry Storm.

Finally, the BlackBerry Driftwood, a GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS device, is also said to offer GPS, a camera, Wi-Fi and a QWERTY keyboard.

We will keep you posted.
