Skype for the iPhone downloaded one million times

3 April 2009 14:21 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Skype has revealed that in the first two days of the Skype application being available for the iPhone via the Apple App Store, it has been downloaded more than a million times.

Apparently this equates to six downloads of the Wi-Fi VoIP app every second since the software was available.

Skype says: "This is a phenomenal performance, and we’re confident that it’s one of the fastest-downloaded iPhone apps ever. We’ll be back next week with an update, but for now, Skype on!"
