With 20 hours battery life

Garmin has announced the Forerunner 310XT, a GPS-enabled waterproof multi-sport watch.

Boasting up to 20 hours of battery life, the watch will work with a new waterproof, soft-strap heart rate monitor from Garmin due this summer as well as the company's bike mounts and other accessories.

The Forerunner 310XT is waterproof to a depth of 50 metres, promises a simple interface and can log all kinds of sports data such as speed, distance and location.

The watch sends this data, as well as GPS-based info, to the user's PC or Mac via automatic wireless data transfer and users can send data (such as courses and goals) back to the watch the same way as well as upload it to Garmin's online Connect service.

The talented timepiece will launch early summer in the States for around $350, no word yet on a UK launch.
