Vodafone announces "Mobile Clicks" developer comp

Vodafone and the Mobile Monday London organisation have announced Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2009, a competition to "inspire startup businesses and individual developers to create and deliver a new mobile site or service".

"All creative ideas are welcome" in the comp that will offer three winners a share of the 150,000 euro prize, to be dolled out at the contest's finale in Amsterdam in September.

Last years' Mobile Clicks winners included "Nulaz", a location-based social networking service merging Google Maps and Facebook, "Tipspot" a new online city guide service and "Map the Gap", described as an idea-sharing application for mobile phones.

The competition consists of three selection rounds, running from April to September with more information on the official site, www.vodafonemobileclicks.com.
